2003 24 Hour Course Working Bee 1

1600x1200
Trying to prove Paul and Mikey never do any work. This is part of the first section of ST we built, a few hundred metres from the camp area, 2 KM into the course.

1600x1200
Same area a bit lower, That is Al Vogt in the middle of the photo. This section of ST is a series of Switch Backs coming down the hill near the camp and start finish area.

1600x1200
We had a very good turn out on the day, about 35 people in the morning, 8 or so of us left for the afternoon session, this shows a few people walking back down the switchbacks.

1600x1200
Paul Cole (the course designer and CORC track building guy) surveying the work (Mikey is hiding behind the tree on the left)

1600x1200
Paul Casimir on at the ront with Mikey on a lower switchback.

1600x1200
Mikey eating after we finished the first section, about to drive up to the fire tower.

1600x1200
The exit from the top bit of ST dropping down from the fire tower.

1600x1200
The fire road we ride along out of the exit before dropping into the next ST.

1600x1200
Part of the top ST that drops down from the fire tower

1600x1200
Another bit higher up on that ST.

1600x1200
Trying to show the two water drainage points on one of the corners on this ST.

1600x1200
A bit of support for the ST courtesy of a car tyre.

1600x1200
The first large berm corner on the ST down from the fire tower.

1600x1200
The owner of the shiny new VT-1 testing out the new track on completion.

1600x1200
Again.

1600x1200
Someone following him through.

1600x1200
A view of that person as they exit the berm and head on down.

1600x1200
A view from just above the berm area up to the fire tower.

1600x1200
Standing next to the fire tower looking down towards Canberra and Queenbyan, this is the highest point on the course, quite scenic if you feel like stopping to tuck a lung back in after the climb.

1600x1200
Similar sort of view but instead looking down to near the start finish and campsite area.

1600x1200
There were copious ladebugs all around the fire tower on the day.

1600x1200
The next day a host (15) of us met with Paul Cole to ride the course loop as it currently stands.

1600x1200
The owner of the VT-1 was there so I took a photo for all the gear freaks out there.

1600x1200
A Photo of some of us after the climb up to the top of the ridge before we got to the fire tower to start our lap of the course.
