2003 Triple Triathlon

The triple tri was on again, I wanted to do three bike legs in a team of three, this meant I had to find a runner and a swimmer. Alan volunteered to swim a while before the race which was good, he is a strong swimmer. Three weeks before the race we still did not have a runner, talking about it after an mtb ride at breakfast one friday morning someone at the next table over heard us and offered to run for us. We explained to him it was a bloody tough race, his face lit up with glee at the thought. We had ourselves a runner, Bruce, and damn did he run well.

On the day of the race it was raining and muddy as heck, this made the bike legs tough, but it kept the runners cool which probably helped a lot. In the end we finished in 11 hours 16 minutes, coming in 10th place in mens 3 person and 33rd over all. Team name was "Not So Soft" (yeah yeah an Ani song name). We all had a lot of fun the triple tri is a very good event.
